Donna J. Thompson was born in Tazewell Virginia in 1946. In grade school, she began her love affair with books. Her favorite time of the day was when the teacher took out her book of Grimes Fairy Tales to read to the class. In high school, her love of reading turned to a love for writing and she has been writing ever since. Her mother always tells all of her friends that when Donna was growing up, there were always pieces of paper scattered all over the house with her scribbling on it. You will not find any short stories to her credit, because she is into writing novels. Her husband says it is because she is so long-winded. Her last story started out to be a novelette, but now it is over a sixty thousand-word novel, entitled, “Dying to Keep It,”
Her ability to create vivid believable characters comes from observing people throughout her life. She writes about Mystery and Romance, two of the greatest forces on earth, and has the ability to move her reader to laughter or tears. You will fall in love with her characters and will find it hard to let them go.
Her published novel, “Plot Twist.” is a who-dun-it, from beginning to end. It is about a wealthy woman, who is very insecure. She sets up a fake kidnapping in order to find out if her husband will pay a million dollars for her safe return. Something goes wrong and she winds up dead.
You are invited to stick around and read a few excerpts from her work.
