My book Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness: The Truth About the Vatican and the Birth of Islam is a historically based refutation of Jack Chick's tract The Prophet where Alberto Rivera, the main character of the Chick publication, gives a testimony that the Vatican created Islam in order to rid themselves of rival early Christian denominations who did not follow Roman Catholic Church doctrines. This book gives detailed explanations on every point with historical references that refutes Chick's work. This Jack Chick story has appeared on many websites around the world, and is commonly known as the Vatican Islam Conspiracy. The text, most often carrying the title How the Vatican Created Islam is currently published on websites belonging to very diverse interests, ranging evangelical Christian websites to neo-Nazi websites to conspiracy theory websites such as that of David Icke.
Now, a little about me...
I guess the best place to start is my name. My name is Gary Dale rather than just the first name Gary, which is very common in certain parts of the American South. I was named after two different people. "Gary" was from the father of my own father's friend and "Dale" was my paternal grandfather.
I was born on March 5th, 1967, and raised about ten miles outside of Prescott, Arkansas, and went into the United States Navy two months after graduating Prescott High School. I went to boot camp at the Recruit Training Center in San Diego, California, and received language training in Vietnamese at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and further military training at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas. Ironically, after Goodfellow Air Force Base I received orders to the USS Arkansas, my home state's name sake vessel. And even stranger was the fact that the day I came up the gang plank, the messenger of the watch was a guy named Matt Cook, who I knew from church camp in my youth.
After the leaving the navy, I went to work in Los Angeles, living in the Venice Beach area. I had started a career in international shipping and freight forwarding. But as I had longed wanted to see the world for all of my life I went to work in Asia, first in Seoul, Republic of Korea, then on to Vietnam where I lived for nearly fifteen years. I relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, in June of 2008 and am happy here.
I have also been very active in developing the sport of darts in Vietnam. I was chairman of the Hanoi International Darts League prior to moving to Ho Chi Minh City where I developed the Saigon International Darts League. Notable achievements have included organizing Vietnam's very first international darts competition in August of 2005 which was attended by a team from Singapore. The Vietnam side won! I am the captain of a darts team now in Bangkok so the tradition carries on...
I'm an avid libertarian who founded the organization Libertarians Abroad on July 4th, 2005. I've been a member of the national Libertarian Party since my days in the Navy when a shipmate loaned me the Lysander Spooner tract No Treason.
I am a graduate of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, and am fluent in three dialects of Vietnamese and also speaks several other languages as well. I worked my way through my education by night school, challenge exams, etc., also graduated the University of the State of New York with an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. I also completed a Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Oklahoma, but will always be a Razorback!
