Between the time I was born and started writing professionally in broadcast, advertising, publishing, and video, I did my time in the Navy, attended two colleges, walked the streets for civil rights, raised hell about Vietnam, got married. On the staff of a news magazine for 21 years. Wrote three published histories devoted to the people and places on Chesapeake Bay, a book-length narrative poem, and collection of poetry. Today a retired freelance writer living with the gulls on the South Jersey Shore. Topping my music list are Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Miles, Coltane, Sinatra, Ella, Diana Krall, Torme, and the Beatles. Writers I like include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Albert Camus, William Carlos Williams, Billy Collins, Keats and Shelley, Anne Sexton, Shakespeare, Homer Smith, Lin Yutang, Tolstoy, Herman Wouk, Saul Bellow,Thomas Wolfe, Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley, and so many more.
