A master story-teller, Robert A. Mills' books are written to be read by everyone who ever sees a movie, watches TV, or attends the theater.  Now retired, Bob Mills devotes full time to historical and mainstream fiction and professional writing services to businesses needing Press Releases, Corporate Reports, Catalogs, New Stories, etc. For detailed information, please e-mail.  From jounalist to author, Mr. Mills was on the staff of the NBC TV & Radio affiliate in Rochester, NY for 27 years.   His primary assignments were a daily 4-hour radio show and the twice-nightly 6 & 11 o'clock TV News/Weather. During his nearly three decades in broadcasting, Mr. Mills interviewed hundreds of celebrities and political household names. "I was the only reporter with Nelson Rockefeller on September 5, 1975, when Secret Service agents notified us Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme had shot President Ford," Mills recalls. "I was sequestered with Rocky in the men's room at the Chamber of Commerce, and I thought I was going to have the first interview with the new president. Visions of a Pulitzer Prize danced in my head." Growing up in Virginia, working many years in New York, and now living and writing in metro Atlanta, Mr. Mills' genre is page-turning  fiction. His latest novel is THE DEFIANCE HURLERS, a gripping tale of the Great Depression.  Mills' 5th novel is a.k.a MR. MARY PATCH, a work in progress.

Additional information

Mr. Mills' 2nd novel - A MORNING FOR AURA LEE - -is a Civil War story again employing fictional characters lost in the maze of actual historical happenstance. What did the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in Ford’s Theater in Washington have to do with the killing of Stonewall Jackson in the woods at the battle of Chancellorsville in Virginia almost two years earlier? What was the real motive behind General Ambrose Burnside’s removal from command of the Army of the Potomac in favor of General Joseph “Fightin’ Joe” Hooker? What curious decision did Lincoln make that changed the outcome of the Civil War and altered the course of history? What role did John Wilkes Booth play in the deaths of both Lincoln and Jackson? What involvement did Lincoln’s administration have in the dark activities of 1863, ’64, and ’65? These are but some of the plot elements interwoven in A MORNING FOR AURA LEE. Although ostensibly a work of fiction populated with a plethora of characters plucked from the imagination of an author immersed in the who, why, wherefores, and what-ifs of historical fiction, this novel takes on the aura of a docu-drama that leaves the reader with a view of America’s foreboding past during a time when the new nation was struggling with its destiny at the hands of people we all know – or think we do. Napoleon Bonaparte didn’t have a clue how profound he was when he said, “What is history but a fable agreed upon?” A third book--DANTE'S CIRCLES--is a sequel to THE BETTER ANGELS involving the original protagonists with the OSS/CIA in the early stages of the Cuban Revolution (1953). Mills' newest is THE DEFINANCE HURLERS, a gripping thriller beginning in the Great Depression.
