I trained as a barrister and have worked as a law lecturer at a number of colleges and universities in the United Kingdom.
As a child I was always surrounded by books and have always held a fascination for the written word. My main interests were in biographies of historical figures and histories of nations.
I have been a student of boxing for a long time and the story of the boxer Richard Ihetu, better known by his ring cognomen Dick Tiger, held a particular mystique which I sought to explore through a book.
As a writer, I would say that I have been influenced subtlely and subconciously by the writers of the welter of biographies I have read over the decades.
