My mother was a great story teller and the stories I liked best were her accounts of my family history before, during and after the Civil War and the suffering they faced when Atlanta and the Georgia countryside were totally destroyed. The historical romance novel Whispering Oaks A Story about the Old South is fictional but in order to provide the setting for the story I did a large amount of research on the history of Georgia and Atlanta as well as on the Civil War.
