I started writing as a hobby but became particularly fascinated with an area in Psychology called Identity Achievement. The Identity achievement task is the one that occurs in late adolescence involving the questions Who Am I and What Am I Going To Do With My Life. After visiting Hawaii in 1987 I realised that the identity achievement task would be particularly difficult for the multi-racial and multi-cultural population there.
