Amani na Mapenzi: Love & Peace is my first book and speaks in a spiritual voice to young adults, African-Americans, abused women, and just plain folks. It is a collection of her first poems, with a touch of “Mother Wit,” that draw upon life, agape love, self love, emotion and wisdom—at times with a sense of humor—from adolescence to today.
In addition to my writing, I have developed a Christian Ministry, a'Kihoro SPIRITUAL CREATIONS to offer graphic and publication design to faith based organizations.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, I attended the Community College of Baltimore, the College of Notré Dame, and the Johns Hopkins University where she earned certification as an Internet Webmaster and Database Developer from the Carey Business School formerly the School of Professional Studies in Business and Education.
I have served on numerous non-profit boards including The Friends of Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum, Inc., as chairperson of programs and development committees, and coordinator of the museum’s Baltimore Artscape festival exhibits. I am considered an expert on the history of Benjamin Banneker and frequently lecture on Banneker’s life and times.
