Born and raised in Chicago and having met my husband after teaching several years, I learned that life does not wait for you. You have to find your path, dare to follow it, and believe in your passion. As an elementary school educator for 16 years with a Master's Degree in Education, and sharing my life with all the childen who entered my room, I was ready to retire from teaching when I had my first of three children.
As a child, my family moved around quite a bit ,and as an adult I continued to move. Learning how to start all over again and again and teaching my children the same philosophy I guess is what has influenced me the most. Linking my past with my present forced me to take a chance and try to fulfill the dream I had always had from my teaching days. Spending my time in the classroom with my kids writing and wanting to write children's books had never diminished. Here I am with my award-winning children's picture book, Circus Fever, and our latest launch of On Your Mark, Get, Set, Go!
Encouraging reading for the sheer joy of reading, has grown into my mission of promoting literacy for children everywhere.
