Agnes Alando-Hoffer writes poetry, and utilizes her expertise in the contemporary Socio-Political and economic issues that influence the development of Education and ICT in Africa, and beyond. Formulating policy reforms for the continent's challenges, she also features in programmes geared towards the preservation of heritage skills, for meaningful social transformations.
Amondyi is her middle name and nom de plume. Her literary influences include Grace Ogot (her godmother), John Ruganda, Elizabeth Bishop, Alex La Guma, Guillaume Appollinaire, Alan Donovan, Victor Hugo.
Born and raised in Nairobi, Aggie lives in the heart of Paris-France, with her husband Pierre, the love of her life. Pierre is the inspiration for her romantic poems. She is multilingual, and a full lyric soprano.
Aggie has an MA honours in International Politics from the Sorbonne University -1999, and graduated with honours from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris -1998. She is an Alliance Girls' High School alumna. Fanyeni bidii shuleni, is her message to this year's KCPE and KCSE candidates.
As the first Kenyan graduate of the Sorbonne and Sciences Po Paris, Aggie encourages Kenyan students to excel and to enrich their multilingual skills en français.
