Agnes Alando-Hoffer utilizes her expertise in the contemporary Political and socio-economic issues that influence the development of Education and ICT in Africa, and beyond, to formulate policy reforms for the continent's challenges. She writes poetry and also features in programmes geared towards the preservation of heritage skills and cultural capital.
Amondyi is her middle name and nom de plume. Her literary influences include Grace Ogot (her godmother), John Ruganda, Elizabeth Bishop, Alex La Guma, Guillaume Appollinaire, Alan Dundes, Victor Hugo.
Born and raised in Nairobi, Aggie lives in the heart of Paris-France, with her husband Pierre; Pierre is the love of her life; Pierre is the inspiration for her romantic poems.
Aggie has an MA honours in International Politics from the Sorbonne University -1999, and graduated with honours from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris -1998. She is multilingual and a full lyric soprano. An Alliance Girls' High School alumna, her message to this year's Kenya national exam candidates isfanyeni bidii shuleni, gi tich maber, ce que tu mérites est à toi.
As the first Kenyan graduate of the Sorbonne and Sciences Po Paris, Aggie encourages Kenyan students to excel and to enrich their multilingual skills en français.
