Anne Bauer was inspired to write her memoir, The Sound of Hope, in order to raise awareness of civil rights of adoptees and instigate reform in the current laws pertaining to adoptee records. Her memoir has already earned the prestigious Editor's Choice award and Rising Star Designation and is now part of Barnes & Noble's Special Collections, "Catch A Rising Star", a page dedicated to finding Up-And-Coming Authors.
Anne was born in the state of NJ and immediately surrendered by her birth mother to a Catholic adoption agency. At ten days old, Anne was
placed into the home of her adoptive family. Her parents told Anne at a very early age about her adoption status, however, no further knowledge about her origins was divulged. She was simply told there were other parents, and yet, at the same time, was expected to pretend they didn't matter anymore—they didn't exist.
After years of silenced questions, Anne set out to uncover her origins
against walls of opposition from her family and society. The Sound of
Hope is her story.
Anne, who currently lives in northern New Jersey with her husband and
their three children, is a former foster parent and periodically volunteers at
Children's Aid and Family Services, Bergen County N.J. Anne also writes for
a Holistic e-Zine for The Reiki Healing Center www.reikiheal.com/HolisticNewsletter.html which includes articles and book reviews for topics addressing the Body, Mind & Spirit.
