My first passion in life was books and reading. I was encouraged to write by my high school teachers; however, I pursued the field of science, gaining a degree in Biological Sciences. After having my own businesses in various industries, I decided to pursue my first love and started work as a freelance book editor and manuscript assessor and work mainly with new authors. I have started to include some co-authoring. I work on all types of manuscripts and write poetry and some children's fiction in my spare time. I also have some poetry that I have written for children and am in the process of turning into picture books.
My first poetry book was published late 2004 by Sid Harta Publishers.'Senses of Being' explores the extremes of emotion through the highs and lows from childhood to adulthood. It was written during very difficult times which culminated in the writing of the final triumphant poem, giving the book its title. It contains original illustrations and cover design and hopefully will touch the soul of any person who has ever struggled with emotional problems or mental illness.
I have my first in a series of children's books out in 2008.

I am currently working on an autobiographical style self-help book about my experiences with Bipolar Disorder. Unlike many publications, this will be written by an actual sufferer with many years experience in successfully (and sometimes courageously) living with this disorder. The book will contain a lot of helpful information about dealing with the day-to-day issues and management of the disorder. The book will also contain some personal experiences of the author as they relate to the emotional aspects of being bipolar, possibly giving hope and support to people struggling with the ups and downs of their condition.
