Blessed with the opportunity to author four books of Christian poetry, one self-help book and to serve as a co-author of two faith filled anthologies, award winning author Arnita L. Fields is destined to make her mark in the literary arena.

While in high school, I was assigned to the features section for the "Gavel" newspaper at John Marshall High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I also had the opportunity to write and direct commercials for production in my broadcasting class during both my junior & senior years. In college I woked as a floor manager for a weekly college show shown on our campus cable channel.
My desire to publish a book of poetry did not actually come into play until 2000, when I began to write poetry during a period of transition. I also realized during this time that I liked writing poetry as much as I enjoyed reading it. I would like to thank Dr. Loretta McBride my former African American Literature professor, who in 1998 was instrumental in helping me to dig deep and pull from the heart what I needed to say as I wrote papers as part of my class assignments.
Writing is not just a profession or career to me, it is part of my ministry from God. Writing allows me to minister words of healing, hope, love, peace and to talk about the goodness of God. I am honored to be able to share with people good news through the ministry of writing.
