I'm a freelance writer of fiction and non-fiction. I love, most of all, magic realism, mystery, and fantasy, though I started out writing science fiction. I ghostwrite and edit fiction, non-fiction, and screenplays. I'm also a performing musician and recording artist along with my husband, Jeff. Major influences on my writing and life are Ray Bradbury, W.P. Kinsella, Tim Powers, and a gentleman named Abdu'l-Baha.

Published 5 fantasy novels and a plethora of short fantasy, magic realism, and SF in magazines such as ANALOG, REALMS OF FANTASY, CENTURY, INTERZONE, and AMAZING STORIES. My novelette "The White Dog" was on the final ballot for the British Science fiction award.

Through our indie label, Mystic Fig, my husband and I have released 3 CD albums of music: 2 parody albums -- RETRO ROCKET SCIENCE and ALIENS ATE MY HOMEWORK -- and one original album -- MANHATTAN SLEEPS. For our musical efforts we've won the Pegasus awards for Best Parody, and Best Performer in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
