C Hottran was born 1975 in Kristiansund, a town on the northwest coast of Norway. She was raised by her grandmother till the age of 9 and then in 1984 she reunited with her mother in Oslo.
In 1988 C and her family immigrated to the United States of America. But her family wasn't granted permanent residence status to stay, so they returned to Norway only one year later.
In 1989 she attended a boarding school, where she lived for three years. And already at the age of seventeen she was living on her own.
In 1994 she met a man who later became her husband, she gave birth to the couple's daughter in January of 2001 and after eight years of marriage she divorced in the beginning of 2003.
Today she still lives with her daughter in Oslo.
