Book Review: Changing Worlds: Book 1 of The Dharalyn Chronicles

by, Melissa R. Mendelson

A tragic knife of loss cuts into innocence.  A heart bleeds into darkness, and journey falls under stone.  One last chance to bring her back, but her ordinary life was far, far gone, shattered into a million lights.  And what dreams may come now taste of fiction, nightmares of stories told, and she opened the door, caught in a hold of magnificence and terror.  And this new life, this unknown fate would now never let her go.

Sweet, sweet darling of the bonds of friendship was born but born under lies and mystery.  She let this girl in, who wrapped her hands around her, pulling her down into a world beyond imagery.  Laughter and tears rang out, but happiness was a slip away, buried under loss and turmoil.  The pain of the past lingered still in both worlds and hearts, but they held together till a flash of bitter betrayal ran red.  And then she was gone, and the broken shards of friendship laid behind, cutting deep into darkness.

There was no lie.  There was no life without the stranger, who brought her back from the brink.  The bitter taste of betrayal gave way to the need to find her, regain their unity that saved more than one life, but she was slipping away.  Wild horses of fear ran rampant as she called from beyond the distance, and hands locked together.  There was no letting go now, no denying fate.

But fate could be so cruel.  Another card was dealt, and finances fell.  Close to her heart, Danielle would lose something so, so precious, and now she would have to risk it all.  And again, she opened the door, but this door did not swing gently into the journey of a newfound friend but an enemy, who would not be so forgiving.  And all bets were off.

The ordinary life was now far, far beyond here.  Enemies circled near and far.  The bullies of the school life were nothing now but faded pages of diary for this was book one of a different sort, and every chapter would be the unfolding of fate.  Every step taken would be of the bond between Danielle Walkerman and sweet, sweet Dharalyn, and deeper and deeper are we pulled into the intertwining of their two lives, spinning and spiraling into an overwhelming fury of a stormy novel called Changing Worlds: Book 1 of The Dharalyn Chronicles written by Donald E. Dambois.
