ECW Is BACK

Extreme Championship Wrestling

After months and months of being pushed off national TV, finally it is back.

After careful preparations for the ECW show-One-Night-Stand special last week and a championship main event pay-per-view last Sunday, where WWE’s John Cena lost the WWE championship title to ECW’s RVD (Rob van Dam), now finally ECW is back on top of things with regular TV time on Tuesday nights.

The first show already started off with displaying Edge’s wanting of the championship, which RVD is holding at this time. Like usually he displayed a cowardice behavior and attacked right after shaking hands and displaying friendship. Sadly for him, John Cena was not far and gave him a well-earned and long over-due whipping.

ECW has a lot of new, but well-known faces, recruited from WWE.

Most surprising the Big Show and Kurt Angle, Nunzio and Tazz, who by the way beat Larry the King Lawler on Sunday’s One Night- Stand.

After an almost impressive start with RVD, Edge and Cena involved, the first match was slightly disappointing. The Sandman pinned the Zombie in lest than 40 seconds, using thirty of them for posing.

Kurt Angle was quick as well in getting his opponent to tap out.

Paul Heyman (or Paul E. Dangerously as he used to call himself) like always led us through a more or less exciting hour of entertainment. The highlight was a Battle Royal at the end of the show. The winner is supposed to face John Cena at Vengeance. Surprisingly Sabu a crazed maniac managed to get Big Show across the top rope and win the Battle Royal, which will give him an opportunity to face John Cena yet again, for the second time.

Well, ECW is back in business and we will have to see if it is still extreme, or if it by now it’s rather a tame version of what it used to be. So far we have seen nothing too extreme.
