Felix Perry's New Book

It will capture your heart!

One of the first writers that I began to follow on AuthorsDen is Felix Perry.  His poetry, usually accompanied by themed picture, delights in romance, nostalgia, and thoughts for the common people, not the literati of graduate programs with their tautology and arguments of deconstructionism and the use of the spondee.

Perry's new book,  Nostalgia Keeps Calling Out to Me, sang in my heart from the opening photo to the credits page.

The poems range in length, but each contributes another thought or emotion to the idea of aging and yesterday. . .the innocence of an age long faded.  The black and white photos from John A. Perry imbue each poem with an extra trace of times gone by:  tombstone, an old clock, a former house, two bicycles.

My favorite poem in this volume is "Could Have Been," for more and more in my life I wonder "what if?"  That is not to say I'm not happy or that I am not content.  It is simply my writer's mind at work with the possibilities I chose not to follow.

Fe's book is available on lulu.com   It s a book you will flag with post-it notes and highlighter pens.  It is gentle and kind and filled with wisdom.
