They guard the frozen word
With even hand and stare
They make the truth seem clear
Authority on God's fear.
There is little space to grow
For lives are busily spent
In chasing goal's
That increase the daily score.
Dogma rarely challenged.
No time to deal
With thoughts so inconcrete
Matters so incomplete.
The guards pick up the slack
Theology strongly bound
Dogma without doubt
A devil to give them clout.
They read the ancient words
And believe they’re complete
They don’t know how they are owned
Don’t know the mortal scold.
Sex they live without
Women left out
The strong must lead the weak
Better not be meek!
Else the devil comes
Carts us all to hell
They don’t accept how love is honed
That women must be known.
They are a wall of fear
Protecting us from ourselves
They are the dupes of Satan
Swinging his sword of fear.
