Am I My Brother's Keeper?

Freedom is a way of life
that some have never known.
To say and do what's on your mind
or be left on ones own.

Martha's finally out of jail.
I hear she's doing well.
No more G-men on her tail,
it's back to buy and sell.

Experts say," the cat is fat"
while they,  themselves indulge.
They hem and haw at this and that ;
It's the Battle of The Bulge.

George is getting cranky.
His top's about to blow.
The end is drawing nearer.
It's almost time to go.

Isn't this a crazy world,
almost like a zoo.
While elephants are kicking a**,
the donkeys throw a shoe.

Athletes are a funny bunch
and Congress needs a fix.
With nothing better on their plates
who'd think the two would mix.

Who am I to change a world
that's so baffled and abused?
Perhaps I am facetious or
maybe just confused.

Professing not to know it all,
I sometimes lay awake.
If I'm my brothers keeper
is that a huge mistake?
