On The Whisper Of The Wind
She left on a hot summers wind with a smile on her face, and tears in her eyes.
Her small delicate hand waved a longing wave as we both in sadness said goodbye.
My heart sank like the ships of Troy as over the hill she went.
I thought of the trial that we shared and the laughter of our time spent.
Now she resides some forty miles away and in the silence once more I PRAY.
It’s been near two years since Leah has passed and I thought sadness was here to stay.
Yet I feel that God has ordained the tender love of Jan for my life.
I now smile again and even laugh sometimes in spite of our recent strife.
Now but I to say I DO; to live once more out from the shadows and into the sun.
To live and rejoice with Jan in the Lord for all that He has done.
Though the way still be narrow, and the journey seemingly long.
Soon, I pray that in true love my house will once more be a home.
