Autumnal Wind
Clay ovens are earth;
Terracotta bowls;
Buried inside the ground;
Warming from darkness…
Seasons harvesting;
Fermentations begin;
Inside rustic kilns;
Our dough rises…
Set with wet cloths;
The yeast swells;
Warms the soul;
Kneading begins…
Fritters deep fried;
Inside cast irons;
Fresh churned butter;
We picked fruit kernels;
Black raspberries for jam…
Horned goats are milked;
Tapioca is made fresh;
The hen house is quiet;
Eggs are in our basket…
The rooster cocks crow;
Wild boars are penned;
Shelves are neatly stocked;
Autumnal wind breaks limbs...
…Winter arrives soon
