It is morning and my heart feels you,
but you are not here.
You have been gone so long.
Each morning my heart cries out for you
and my eyes twinkle at your mirage.
Tonight when I retire,
thoughts of you will lull me to sleep.
Do you know this?
Do you even care?
There was a time when the phone would
ring with just the thought of you.
We used to be as one.
You knew my thoughts.
We finished each others sentences.
Why was it so easy for you to let go?
So easy for you to forget.
Oh I was drugged from my
addiction to your love.
My love for you is eternal.
My soul still calls you mate.
When I take my last breath, it
will be your name on my lips
as my soul leaves my body.
