Life Like Rain

May you always have a full sail and trailing seas.

Sometimes in my life here,
I think about the rain.
There is no life without water.
And rain does seem to me to tell,
The story of a life.

Some days it is gentle,
Steady soaking, nourishing
And reassuring.
Other days it’s harder,
But still falling straight down.

Then the wind begins to blow,
Mimicking life’s ebb and flow.
Soon it’s a hurricane with sideways rain and flying debris,
Threatening your very stability.

There is one thing though about the rain ,
And on this you can bet.
If you stand out in it,
You surely will get wet.
