Early Morning Walkabout

AAH!

Ode To Dawn

Spring Has Finally Sprung

Our Heartlessness Grows

A:  a domestic animal that is wandering at large or is lost;

B:  a person or thing that strays from the correct path.

Merriam Webster’s Dictionary

Yet another sad telephone call

About yet one more, starving stray

We have failed miserably, as stewards

We’ve strayed far from the right path today

This one had been wandering a parking lot

At a stadium, housing a major league team

Not one man, woman, or child, in attendance

Gave one thought to his woeful plight it seems

I am sadly guessing that this dog, was dumped here

By an uncaring owner, who thought others would care

But thousands of baseball lovers, simply ignored this dog

After the game was over and they all left, he was still there

“This dog was seen following after numerous people in that lot;

They all ignored his very presence, or they shooed him away.”

And now, he has wandered off, filled with loneliness and pain

As I search for him, I sadly wonder, what’s wrong with us, today

Yet another sad telephone call,

About yet one more, starving stray;

We have failed miserably as stewards,

We’ve strayed far from the right path today.
