"With Christmas coming up next month, things don't look very merry for our family. I don't think there'll be enough money for gifts under the tree. In fact, I don't think we will even have a tree this year, the way things are looking now."
A child continues to worry about her mother, who doesn't seem to be doing any better with her depression since losing her job as an attorney.

I wish I could do something to help mommers.
Mommers continues to spend her days in bed, with the covers pulled up over her head, not wanting to see anybody or do anything. It's really making us worried.
Daddy keeps taking her back and forth to the doctor's, to see if he can do anything, but mommers absolutely refuses to take the medicines he's given her. (She claims they give her bad side effects; she doesn't like how they make her feel.) So it really doesn't do her any good!
Meanwhile, daddy and I have to help run the ship when mommers is in bed. We have to be quiet, and we also have to do our level-headed best not to fight or upset mommers. Living like this is hard, especially since I have school; I don't get to bed until midnight some nights because I have so much to do, on top of my homework assignments. Some days I am dragging by the time school ends; it's all I can do to keep from crawling into my bed and sleeping for a million years!
With Christmas coming up next month, things don't look very merry for our family. I don't think there'll be enough money for gifts under the tree. In fact, I don't think we will even have a tree this year, the way things are looking now.
It's going to take a miracle to have a good Christmas this year!
Please continue to keep my mommers (as well as my family) in your prayers; we really could use some God-help about now! Thanks in advance!
