Happy Thanksgiving from the Planet Cornucopia
Thanksgiving from Cornucopia

The day was chilly on this November morning, and the nights had become cold. It was only one day before Thanksgiving in the year of 2005. This had been a year filled with disasters for planet Earth, and now a day of thanks was upon the people of the world.
The year 2005 brought with it floods, mudslides, tsunamis and hurricanes that took precious lives and left so many people homeless; earthquakes that torn through the core of the Earth and ripped out parts of the planet; wars that killed the good as well as the bad, fires that raged out of control and torched thousands of homes; snow blizzards that claimed the lives of the many who were left homeless, and then the news came that a pandemic of bird flu would threaten millions more on the planet. Earth was going through it’s own Apocalypse.
Some where’s --- in a galaxy far, far away, came the sounds of the turkey call. Everyone in the four corners of the world heard the noise, but no one knew where it came from. It echoed throughout all of the lands.
Government officials from every country called NASA to investigate the echoes of the gobble sounds, and after only a few hours of searching, they saw through their powerful telescopes that there was a new planet that had risen and was very close to planet Earth. It seemed to have found it’s way near planet Earth overnight. Upon further searching, officials saw that the planet was inhabited by turkeys. The big birds had intelligence and could speak the same as humans here on Earth.
Communications began immediately. Officials sent messages to them asking what their intentions were for passing so close to planet Earth.
The highest ranking turkey, who addressed himself as King Butterball answered.
“Our planet is passing near your Earth, because the news of the devastation to your planet has reached everyone in all of the galaxies. We are here to bring every human being a better day for Thanksgiving.”
“And what do you know of Thanksgiving?”
“We are the turkeys from the Planet Cornucopia, and the mission of our planet is to spread joy to all places in the galaxies that don’t have total peace,” answered King Butterball.
NASA said, “We have been trying for thousands of years to bring peace to planet Earth, and we have never achieved this mission. How can you, King Butterball, accomplish this overnight?”
“It is what we do.”
With that statement, plant Cornucopia turned into a glowing yellowish, gold light. The golden color, reached planet Earth as beams of bright lights from a huge flashlight that was moving it’s rays on each section of planet Earth. People from every continent felt the warm glow of the bright golden light.
The golden light lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes. During the 1 hour and 11 minutes, all of the turkeys on planet Cornucopia gobbled. After that time, the golden lights went off, the turkeys stopped gobbling, and the planet Cornucopia was not in the sight of NASA’s telescopes.
NASA quickly alerted the media, but the media was already reporting news of the sudden miracles of wars that were ended; of cities that were rebuilt; of poverty that was wiped out; of the homeless being erased worldwide; and of diseases that were cured.
The attitude of everyone on planet Earth had changed. Neighbors, families and friends, were helping each other, and were gathered together, giving thanks all over the world. Large groups of people everywhere were singing praises that the world was now at peace.
NASA wondered. “What went right?”
One turkey, dressed in a golden robe with a golden crown upon his head, entered the building. “Gold is the color of love on planet Cornucopia. The way to world peace can only come through the colors of love.”
And with that statement, the turkey disappeared.
On all of the computer monitors were the words:
Let there be Peace on Earth .. And Let it Begin with Me.
