Howdy from Galveston, Texas!!
Marina Hope Ryan here. Hope this finds y'all well. The bright, pristine-blue skies, wall-to-wall sunshine, and the sounds of the Gulf of Mexico lapping the shoreline does much to invigorate my spirit. I just love living here in Galveston!
I am fully recovered from my recent bout of pneumonia: just have a few days' supply left of the antibiotics I have been on since getting out ot the hospital. Then I'm good to go. I am still working at Murdoch's; have worked there for over 10 years now and I love it! I am off today from work, but work there the next five days. I plan on seizing the day and making the most of it!
Steve Cutler, my brother's partner (and one of my dearest friends) is supposed to work at the RainForest Cafe' at 11 this morning (Steve works until 10 tonight), but Galveston, my brother, and myself are both off. We plan on doing what we usually do: hike the Strand, maybe go to Moody Gardens, maybe go shopping and just enjoy the beauty of this late winter day. Maybe we'll even take "Dinky" with us; I know he will enjoy getting out ...
We had some pretty bad storms roll through Galveston the other night, but thank God no damage, nothing like what they had in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, who were hit hard. Turns out over 30 people died as a result of the severe weather outbreak. I'm just grateful that it wasn't us who got ripped by the storms!
The lightning flashing over the Gulf sure was pretty, though: made for some awesome, amazing photo opportunities!
We have a new family member to talk about: we have a little Yorkie puppy; it was the runt of the litter and its name is "Dinky". It doesn't run: it bounces all over, as if its miniscule-sized legs are made out of springs. It's so cute! He's black and tan with huge, dark-brown eyes. We all love him so much!
The name "Dinky" couldn't be more perfect for our little pet!
Well, Steve-O and Gal have made breakfast, so I think it's high time we get our grub-faces on and enjoy each other's company before Steve heads to work at the RainForest Cafe'. Then Galveston and I will take our "child" and spend the day relaxing. Ahhh, Sunday's a perfect day here in Galveston to chill out and have fun! Take care and talk to y'all later!
~Love, your friend in Galveston, Texas, Marina Hope.
