The Day The Sky Turned Blood-Red. (Part Two)!

The nightmare becomes a reality as the Martians launch their attack on the community, much to Sara-Beth's horror.

I guess the blood-red sky was the Martian's way of warning us.  In any event, we are now at war with a very unpredictable enemy, and it's scaring us all halfway to death.

I hear the incessant buzzing of spacecraft hovering directly overhead; the sound of it makes me want to look outside, but I'm afraid that if I do, I will more than likely get zapped, incinerated out of existance.

That would be a horrific way to die.  I am not chancing it, so I am stuck down here with my family.  It's like the Martians are holding all of us hostage.

I am sure that millions of people have already been killed.  Their deaths have probably been predictably violent and/or quick.  One minute, you're there, the next: ZAP!  Gone.  Poof! Just like that.

We are keeping tabs on the situation via our small portable television set.  The Martian invasion is the topic of the day: it's the only thing all the channels talk about.  There's nothing else on but the news, and it's all about the attacks. I am sick of it already!

How long we will have power is anybody's guess.  It's a wonder the Martians haven't destroyed that.  I also have my trusty little laptop computer, which is how I am typing to you. (If the power should happen to go out, I have battery backup, so no prob there!)  I am scared to divulge too much in the way of information, in case aliens are spying on our every move.

I wouldn't put it past them.  Heaven knows, they're already mad enough.

I have no idea what we could have done to piss 'em off.  That's probably the scariest part of all in relation to the attacks.

Every night, I hear the slamming and thudding of rocks being hurtled at the earth.  Maybe it's meteorites (or asteroids), or maybe, perhaps, their Martian weaponry.  I don't know, but it's a wonder we even have a place left.  I'm just glad that mom and dad are with me here in our shelter; if anything were to happen to them, I'd go crazy.  Stir crazy!

I haven't been to school in the past month, ever since this war started.  I miss my friends.  No, I miss my LIFE!  I wish these stupid Martians would just get it overwith and just leave!!  I am tired of their temper tantrums already! Enough is enough!!!!
