Trinity Mary Grace Callier, now seventeen, updates us on her story.

Tap.  Tap.  Tap.

I sit here in front of my computer, trying to gather my thoughts.  Know it's been a while since I last wrote in  here.  We had just moved to Breaux Bridge because our home back in Lake Charles (where I was born) was infested with mold and it was making us all sick, so we had to move, for the sake of our health.

Now we are settled here in Breaux Bridge.  Happily, all of us are doing much better; some of the health problems and allergies have cleared up and we have all resumed our normal, everyday life.

This is your Cajun friend, Trinity Mary Grace Callier.  I'm now seventeen years old and am in my second-to-last-year in high school.  That's right: I'm a junior.  Next year, in 2013, I will be graduating and starting to think about college.  (Time sure has flown by: seems like only yesterday when I was entering the throes of adolescence!)

I'm also getting ready to perform at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.  This is my second time in doing so; last year was my official "debut" as a Cajun singer and musician.  I have gotten quite good at the Cajun accordion and have started thinking of putting a band together.  There's a local chick named Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, who lives in Lafayette, and she's been doing this since she was a litttle girl.  She's a little older than me (19), and sounds like she should be performing at the Grand Ole Opry!  She's that good!  I am NOT kidding!!

Anyway, Ronee' has sort of been my inspiration, and she was the one who inspired me to get serious about my music.  So there you go.

I am looking forward to performing there: I have gone there for the past few years and have always enjoyed the zydeco and Cajun music.  Now it's my turn to prove my mettle on the Cajun French accordion and show these legends just what we upstarts can dish out!

Maman and Daddy are very proud at how far I have come in my music; frankly, I am, too.  I have really practiced hard to improve in my singing and music playing abilities!

Maybe if I do well at the Crawfish Festival, I can be invited to perform at the Cajun Grammys (LeCajun Cajun Music Awards Show and Festival, held at the Blackham Coliseum in Lafayette); this is where all the big guns of Cajun gather for a weekend of continuous live Cajun music and dancing, food, contests, give-a-ways, and so much more!  Yeah, that would be AWESOME!!!!!!!

I'm not nervous now, but maybe once the date of the Crawfish Festival gets closer, the nerves will start going into overdrive!  Still, it IS exciting to think about!!

Well, we're gonna eat soon, so I will go.  I will write later; until then, this is Trinity Caillier saying so long!  Take care, God bless, and laissez les bon temps rouler!!  AAIIEEE!!
