Please, God: Make It Snow!!!

A woman living in Galveston, Texas, wants one thing for Christmas: to see snow.

Image of snowfall (c) 2011, by Karla Dorman.

If there is anything i want for Christmas, it is to see snow.

I live in Galveston, Texas, where cold (let alone, snow or any type of wintry precipitation)  is extremely rare.

Perhaps that is a good thing for a lot of people, but I am not like most people.  See, I have always wanted to see (let alone, experience) snow, but have never been able to.  That makes me very sad.

I could  have done this three/four years ago, but of course, I happened to be in Mexico, on a cruise.  While I was enjoying Mexico's sunny beaches in warm, 80-degree temperatures, Galveston was getting snow!! I wsa so mad  I wanted the captain to turn the ship around back to Galveston, just so I could see the snowfall, but he told me we were well on our way to to Mexico!

If I remember correctly, Galveston had something like 6 inches of snow.  The beaches, the roads, the grass: everything was covered in a blanket of white and Galveston was closed down for several days!

I get sad during this time of ear because all the Christmas songs talk about snow and I have no idea what snow is like.  I have been petitioning God to make my dream come true, and that is for me to see snow here in Galveston.

I know it may seem frivelous, but I can't help it.  I think it would be so neat to feel snowflakes tickling my cheeks and face, snowflakes melting upon my tongue, making snowmen, or walking in it!
