Howdy from Cowtown USA, Fort Worth, Texas!!
This is your friend, Steffi Sandusky, writing. Sorry I haven't written in here in so long; have been incredibly busy. Just got married last month and am getting used to married life. I love my new husband; he is very good to me. I love Tank more and more with each passing day.
I'm now Stephanie Le-Anne Griswald. I am getting used to putting Griswald down instead of my maiden name, which was Sandusky. I still mess up sometimes, but I'm getting the hang of it.
Last month, we got married. I pledged my life to my brand new husband and went on our honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico. It was wonderful; we were there for a week. We truly enjoyed ourselves immensely!
We just celebrated the Fourth of July here in Fort Worth. We went to the Festival of Freedom; we were there all day. I got cooked: I'm bright red. I look like an overcooked lobster. OW!! I have been bathing in Noxema to try to ease the sting of the burn; I am practically glowing!
We had a great time: we saw lots of musical acts and saw an air show, military tributes, heard patriotic-driven speeches, ate enough food until our bellies nearly burst, and saw a wonderful patriotic program, and of course, the fireworks.
They were nothing short of spectacular; the show lasted over 20 minutes long!
Yesterday we just hung around the pool (or the house) and lazed. Today we are doing the same thing.
Tomorrow, though, it is an entirely different story. We are going to Crowley, Texas, tomorrow for their Celebration of Freedom; we went there for the first time two years ago, and this will be our third one. That means more music (Vocal Trash is the highlighted musical act), more speeches, more food (free because my grandpa was a Veteran, and so is Tank's dad!), another parade, and of course, the fireworks, which are among the best in Texas.
I am sure there will be many people hanging around the water fountains to cool off; the highs tomorrow are supposed to top out in the middle to upper nineties with bright, wall-to-wall sunshine. I just hope nobody passes out or gets sick from the heat; thank God there are buildings for people to go into to cool off or get out of the intense Texas sun!
Well, I hate to run, but I'm making hot dogs for lunch, and then Tank and I are going to go swimming (and maybe to the library downtown; we both can use some new reading material).
I will write in here soon; sorry it's been so long in doing so! I'm a terrible journalist! LOL Take care and may God bless you always!
~Love, your friend in Texas, the new Steffi Griswald. :)
