Amy Madison here.
I am happy to say that we are doing well: me and my beautiful nine-year-old son, Trinh Michael, who has been nothing but a joy to me.
Trinh is moving ahead in his quest to get past the abuse he suffered at the hand of the family he had prior to mine. He nearly died; he was severely malnourished, and as a result of this abuse, he is developmentally behind his peers but is making real progress. His doctors and teachers are very pleased, as am I.
It's been nothing short of miraculous. From a scared, shy little boy who wouldn't say two words, Trinh is turning into a very chatty child with an outgoing personality; his personality makes up for his slight size. He is very cute; I am so blessed that God brought us together!
Trinh is learning to be nicer to people, even though people didn't treat him well at first. He is learning to trust, love, even forgive. I have him involved in church activities; I think this is what keeps him focused, as does the supportive therapies he attends several days a week.
Trinh is also learning the news that he is about to become a big brother. I am adopting a second child, another little boy, this time from Africa. His name is Kweme, and he is six. He has cerebral palsy; he is absolutely gorgeous! He has the prettiest dark-brown eyes and the sweetest smile; I can't wait until he is with me and his brother! I have already fallen in love with Kweme, and so has Trinh: he already calls him his little brother and, like me, is counting the days to where he is here in America!
I have been working on getting Kweme for the past several months; it may be sooner, the way things stand now. As soon as I find out anything, I'll be sure to let you know; until then, I can continue to get the house ready and enjoy my other child.
I will write in here again; have to get Trinh ready for our trip to the zoo. We're making a day of it, just us two together. It is going to be a lot of fun! Until then, this is Amy signing off! Take care and may God bless you as much as He's been blessing us!
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Amy Madison, Trinh's mom. :)
