My wife was diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in May 2006. At the time, we had only been married two years, and we had a one-year-old daughter. She underwent the normal rounds of treatment. Unfortunately, these treatments did not stop her extremely aggressive triple-negative breast cancer, which soon spread to her vertebra, other bones, skin, and lungs. She passed away on November 13, 2007, at the age of 36.
I wrote my memoir, My Life with Laura: A Love Story, because I wanted for our daughter Charlotte to better know her mother. In addition, it is a testament to our life together and my wife's courage and faith in battling this horrible disease.
