I grew up dirt-poor but with big dreams. I devoured history and geography books telling myself that someday I would see these places I read about. My childhood was difficult but the major influence in my life was my grandmother, Teresa, who had come to this country as anItalian immigrant. Although she was illiterate, she encouraged all of us to pursue education.
I went on to higher education and became a teacher. After 35 years in the classroom, I retired and turned to writing in earnest. Although I had written various newspaper and magazine articles over the years, I hadn't accomplished much. In 2003, my first book was published. It was written for caregivers and the title is "What Happens Next? A Family Guide to Nursing Home Visits...and More". The publication of that book propelled me into speaking engagements and workshops across the country. It is still featured on amazon.com.
My new book has just been published and the title is "Entering the Age of Elegance: a Rite of Passage & Practical Guide for the Maturing Modern Woman". I have 5 endorsements for the book and the Foreword has been written by Dr. Dorree Lynn, psychologist and media personality.
And yes... I have been able to visit all the places I once dreamed about. I have visited all 7 continents (a goal I set for myself) ~ dancing on the Great Wall of China, riding a camel in the sand dunes of Egypt, playing with kangaroos in the Great Outback... and that's a mere sampling!
