Award-winning speculative fiction author.

Background Information

My award-winning novels Desert Magick Superstitions, an adult paranormal fantasy, and the teen novel The Mask of Tamirella are now available. My teen fantasy Breach of Worlds and my adult fantasy trilogy the Teadai Prophecies are currently under contract with SynergEbooks and scheduled for release later this year.

After spending most of my life in the entertainment industry (you can catch me in various episodes of Rags to Riches and some very bad movies and cable shows that shall remain unnamed), I decided to make a career change and go back to school, via hubby's encouragement.

I studied with Nebula Award winner and science fiction author Sheila Finch and received my creative writing degree from California State University, Long Beach. My work has appeared in several magazines. I have written several novels and am currently at work on another.

I live in the Arizona desert with my husband, also a speculative fiction nut and my best critic. The desert is a giant fodder bin that influences my writing when I least expect it.

Accomplishments

2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist.
2008 Eric Hoffman Award Finalist.
2008 Indie Excellence Book Award Finalist
2007 Hollywood Book Festival Honorable Mention.

Additional Information

The Mask of Tamirella reviews: "The magic of this tale lies in the straightforward narrative and the authentic, witty dialogue...enchanting, informative...a wonderful adventure story." WriteWords "Perhaps Dana was writing for the teenage audience, but she manages to capture us all in her timeless novel The Mask of Tamirella. She writes about life in a post-apocalyptic world that is a clear and present danger in today's society and it is a very good read." Barbara Patterson, KFHX Radio, Mornings with Barb "This is foremost a fun, fast read!" "An exciting journey, a great read!" sffworld.com "It's a great book." "You can't put the book down."
