Chris Kanyane received his extensive research, writing and facilitation experience by working/collaborating/involved with diverse organizations globally, including being a Fellow of the American Academy of Financial Management — in academic corporation with Thomas Jefferson School of Law; Institute de Recherche pour le Developpement in Paris (France); Netherlands government through MHO project; the Canada based AfricaFiles; Netherlands based Management Development Foundation; the South African government; University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology where he was a member of the Central Research Committee.
In 2003, having secured funding from the Netherlands government’s Ministry for International Cooperation, Chris Kanyane conducted extensive community development surveys in the townships of Soshanguve and Mabopane in Pretoria (Tshwane). The results of the research were published by the Council for the Development of Economic and Social Research in Africa (CODESRIA) in its flagship journal Africa Development.
Following the publishing of the research findings Chris Kanyane was then invited to make presentations at national and international conferences. He was also invited to do a presentation at the United Nations Conference on Reading but was unable to make the trip as he already had other community development engagements in Tanzania, East Africa.
The community historical research led to the publishing of his first book on personal development called Create Better Life Now. This critically acclaimed book won the Editor’s Choice Award from a major publishing services house in the United State of America.
Chris Kanyane was also a full time Chief Researcher at the Human Sciences Research Council in South Africa (HSRC), the leading research think tank in Africa.
Chris Kanyane was awarded an academic excellence award for his penetrating History on Human Development by Central Western University.
Chris Kanyane in 2010 participated actively in the Conference on “Reclaiming and Living out the Values of a Just and Caring Society”. During the conference he was provided a platform for exhibitions as well as providing history lectures to conference delegates.
Chris Kanyane has Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Management College of Southern Africa and PhD in History from Central Western University, Texas (US)
