I started singing in public at age 6, and I've been hooked ever since. My father played guitar and I picked it up at age 9 and was playing professionally before I was 15. Immediately after high school, I moved from SW Ohio to Kentucky, where I worked as a radio DJ for 5 years. Earning more as a musician than I was in small market radio, I left broadcasting behind to be a full time musician. A series of events led me to S. Florida in January 1975, and I realized this is where I was always supposed to be. I love classic fiction. From Mark Twain and O. Henry to Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, I have marveled at the storytelling ability of these masters. I've read and re-read some wondeful science fiction from Heinlien, Asimov and Frank Herbert. Musically speaking, I'm just an old folksinger. My parents listened to The Grand Ole Opry on the radio on Saturday nights, and I loved that music. But when I first heard the Brothers Four, The Kingston Trio and The Smothers Brothers, I was hooked. That music is still essential to the lyrics, melodies and arrangements that make up my songs today.

During March, 2006, I was a featured author at the Lee County Reading Festival in Ft. Myers, Florida.
I just received a letter noting that my concerts drew the largest audiences of the festival. I love that. Arriving home the following week, I was invited to participate as a featured author at the
Amelia Island Book Festival in October, and I have just been invited to participate in the Miami International
Book Fair in November. I am definitely going in the direction I want to be going.
