Always a lover of things Irish, I wanted to capture the story of my immigrant ancestor for future generations of my family. Turning it into a novel allowed me to breathe life into the characters and broaden the appeal. My approach was influenced heavily by Michael Shaara's Killer Angels. My love of history, its fascinating characters, and its lessons to be learned drive my writing.
