It has always peeved me that so many novels are set in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles. It’s not that I have anything against those places, but I want to set my work apart. For that reason I create fictitious settings in the Ozarks of eastern Missouri. That’s the region where I grew up and I find it easy to write in vivid detail about the shadowy mountains, the crystal streams and the unique culture of the area.
My first book, Theodosia's Flock, was published in 2007. You'll find bold characters, crisp dialogue, and an original plot that only an engineer would dream up. The setting is the southeastern Missouri Ozarks where I grew up.
My second book, The Hermit's Lair, was published in October 2008. It is a sequel to Theodosia's flock and introduces a new, even more frightening "monster."
Excerpts from both of my books are available for download.
Writers who have influenced my work include Stephen king, Peter Straub, Anne Rice and Tom Clancy.
