Guerrero has been writing professionally since 1995 and draws from her personal experiences of working with animals. "I never expected to be a writer. When I was working for the World Famous Zoological Society of San Diego I had an injury (a fall from near the top of the zoo hay barn) that caused me to work on many different written projects and the rest is history. I guess you could say I fell into it! I began my first story when I was only eight. However, I didn't listen to those who said I was a writer and just kept on pursuing my lover for animals. Now, many years later, I am writing and writing and writing."

Diana is an alumni to the original Gentle Jungle Affection Training School, the Exotic Animal Training & Management Program at Moorpark College, and the International Training Centre of the Durrell Wildlife Preservation Trust & Marwell Zoo. She has many awards and honors and has been affiliated with some of the top zoos in the world!
