Dimitris P. Kraniotis was born in 1966 in Stomio, a coastal town in central Greece. He studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. He lives and works as a Medical Doctor Specialist in Internal Medicine in Larissa, Greece. He is Doctor of Literature (Litt.D.), Founder and President of World Poets Society (W.P.S.), Editorial Director of the medical magazine "Hippocrates" and member of the Board of Directors of the Larissa Medical Association and Larissa Medical Society. He is member of the Hellenic Literary Society, International Society of Greek Writers, Greek Society of Medical Writers, Larissa Writers and Poets Society (former Vice-President and President), World Academy of Arts and Culture (WAAC), World Congress of Poets (WCP), United Poets Laureate International (UPLI),International Writers and Artists Association (IWA), Union Mondiale des Ecrivains Medecins (UMEM), International Society of Poets (ISP), Poetry Society of America (PSA), The Academy of American Poets and Poetas del Mundo (Chile) . Four of his poetic collections have been published: "Traces" (poems in Greek, 1985), "Clay Faces" (poems in Greek, 1992), "Fictitious Line" (poems in Greek, English and French, 2005) and "Dunes" (poems in French and Romanian, 2007). His poems have been published in Greece, USA, Romania, UK, France, Australia, Mongolia, Canada, India, Korea, Brazil, Belgium, China, Germany, Italy, El Salvador, Turkie and Algeria. Central theme in his poetry is contemporary man, his impasse, his worries, his fears, his hopes and dreams.
