I started this journey by wanting to reach out to others who were sick and felt alone in the world and wanted to inspire others, which lead me to writing my first inspirational poem. It’s funny now when I look back because I used to write poetry when I was younger and had forgotten all about it. When I decided to write a poem to help others, I actually searched for a writer or a poem before the light bulb went off and I remembered that I used to write myself.

Once I realized the fact that I could write, it all came back to me and I wrote the first of many poems within a couple of hours. I started sending out my special poem to support groups, hospitals, homeless shelters, and anywhere else I thought someone may be in need of a little inspiration. Although I wondered if my poems would help someone, I witnessed it first hand when I delivered a poem to a woman and watched the tears fall from her eyes, and I knew right then that I would become a writer and set a goal to inspire and touch as many lives as I could with my writing.

Over the next few years I started writing short stories which were published in newsletters, on websites, a radio show, and in a book, but along the way, I wanted to do more. So I started doing volunteer work at a hospital, and a shelter for teens, and one thing became quite apparent to me. I wanted to help women and young girls because over the years I had seen so many women and teen girls with low self esteem and it broke my heart. So many of them had been abused and had lost their way, and I knew there had to be a way to help them remember the amazing gifts and talents each one of us have.

So I enlarged my goal by starting an inspirational bath and body website Divine Diva Delights, and I decided to make each scent name something inspirational. I wanted each woman to be inspired and remember who she really is as she put on her lotion or perfume each day. But the products alone were not enough; I wanted my site to be a place which inspired women even if they didn’t purchase any products.

I knew that my words could only help so much and I wanted women to learn valuable things from other women, so I came up with a set of questions to ask career women that were designed to give insight as to how each of us accomplish the life of our dreams, and to also help women learn that it’s not always easy, but we can overcome adversity and obstacles in our lives and still become who we are meant to be in life. I started doing the interviews and posting them on my bath site, and went on to do the interviews on a radio show and it has been so amazing to have the women I interview share such valuable information with not only me, but every woman.

But my mission and goals didn’t stop there, I wanted to do more for women everywhere and having met so many women who have been abused and having a cousin murdered by her ex husband guided me to my next goal, which was to open a new website to support abused women called Divine Seeds Of Hope. I was also blessed to be able to fill the site with inspirational articles from some of the women I have interviewed and it also lead me to reach out even more to start working one on one with abused women and women who self injure. I have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful women along the way and the gifts I receive from everything I do continues leading me to new and amazing things.

I knew in my heart from the moment I put the pen in my hand and wrote my first inspirational poem that I would write not one book, but many books, and although it has taken me some time to get here, I am excited to say I have started writing my first book. I always thought my first book would be about my journey with chronic illness, but I realized that book is not the book that needs to be written at this time. The book that is coming to life right now, is a book called Season Of Hope.

Season Of Hope is not my story; it is the story of many women. It’s a story of hope and the story of five women who have lost hope while dealing with abuse, self injury, depression, adoption, and so much more. The women in this story receive a little divine intervention is the form of an angel named Charity.

My goal with everything I do is to inspire, motivate, empower, and build self esteem in women everywhere. I have learned that life is all about the journey, not the destination. We are all on a journey of this thing called life, and I plan to continue enlarging my vision and hope to meet you along the way.
