After moving from Oregon at the age of six, I grew up in a small city in Wisconsin, exploring the area around me; carving snow bowls from plow clumps and following cat tracks through the snow in winter, hunting for wild strawberries and tadpoles in the summer. I was fortunate enough to live 2 blocks from our small-scale city library where I happily spent hours; checking for interesting titles, cozying up in a chair to read and bringing home armfuls of books at a time. My uncle, who lived in Madison, would bring me Sci-Fi, Sword and Sorcery and Fantasy books that he had read; I had piles of them, numerous authors, wonderful worlds, magical creatures, and have been reading avidly ever since.
I’ve always loved observing nature, gardening, cats, reading, and collecting rocks, plants, thoughts and language nuances. I joined the Poetry Pages in 2000, and found a new love, writing poetry.
I live in a copper mining community in So West Arizona, now, with my husband, two daughters and six cats.
Ten years later or so, I still live here, with my family. My head is filled with projects, my hands are not, yet. :)
