I have been told by my wife and friends that I have a way of explaining the Scriptures that just make sense to the average person. I am a bi-vocational minister and work in the library at Georgetown College. The book of Romans changed my life, transformed my life completely. I wanted to leave something behind for my children and future grandchildren to read so that they would know why I am the person I am.

I've been married to the same woman for 25 years. I have two wonderul Christian daughters. That's quite an achievement! I'm a minister, a chaplain for Chick-fil-A and work at Georgetown College. That's enough!

Your down-to-earth prose is easy to read and leads me to a better understanding of Romans. I know that biblical men talked like we do but I seldom see biblical ideas so well expressed in today's language. I'm enjoying your book. I thought it would be preachy but instead its down to earth language is amusing and keeps me reading. Now I know what you were doing during all those lonely early morning bible studies. Your notes were preparing you to write a story that anyone can understand and if the hip morons turn their noses up and refuse to understand plain English, they will have no one to blame but themselves. I will begin my 24th year in ministry in 2009. At this point in my life I am a bi-vocational minister. I’ve worked at Georgetown College (working in the library and serving as a staff chaplain) since 1996. In addition, I serve as the Store Chaplain for Chick-fil-A restaurant in Hamburg, Lexington, Kentucky. The Oasis church of Christ is in Georgetown, Kentucky just minutes from the beautiful campus. Living In His Presence--a devotional
From 1996 to 1998 I had only one question to bring before His Holy Mountain. Just one and this is the matter I brought before the Lord, “With everything that has happened to me, have I learned the lesson you wanted me to learn?” Ironically, while I was asking Him that question I believe He in turn was addressing me with one as well, “Ernie, when you lost your job; when you were stripped of your calling, your vocation, your dignity; when you were separated from your family and the nearest friend was over a thousand miles away….Was I enough? Am I enough? Is My presence enough?” My answer is now a definite, YES! (Psalm 73:21-28)
