Folake Taylor, MD was born in the United Kingdom to Nigerian born parents. She spent her early years in both countries before finally relocating to the United States after her initial medical eduction to live the American Dream. She obtained her residency at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Presently, she is an Internist who practices Primary Care Medicine in the Suburbs of Atlanta GA and she resides in the Atlanta metro area with her husband and daughter.
She has always written for fun and has a passion for helping people; the motivation for seeking a career in medicine. She decided to extend this passion to her writing and birthed the self-help motivational book The Only Way is Up, targeting primarily all women, African Americans and Immigrants. She draws on her life experiences as well as her global view from her travels to give a refreshing perspective on the world we live in today, especially in the United States and the developed world. She hopes to effect change so that we can start to reverse the trends of social decline that is all too evident around us.
In her spare moments, Folake Taylor loves to have fun with her family and friends, she loves to travel, she loves the beach and water sports (though a non-swimmer) and she loves six flags.
She believes we can make this world a better place one person at a time and one good deed at a time. She is always optimistic and hopes to communicate this attitude to her readers.
"If you can't change the situation, change your attitude to it!"
"Yes we can!"
