A king doomed by prophecy... A warrior haunted by his past... And a boy who will become a legend... The Shattering Sword

Background Information

Forrest Taylor began writing at an early age.  He started out with short stories, most of which were Stephen King-influenced tales of horror.  Louis L'amour westerns also had a major early impact.  Later influences include Larry McMurtry, whose novel Lonesome Dove won the Pullitzer Prize for literature, John Grisham, and Robert Jordan.

Born on November 25th, 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida, to a contractor and a beautician, Taylor as a child dreamed of being a professional athlete.  Realizing his athletic talent could not sustain his ambitions, he discovered a love of the arts.  His artwork seemed to attract much more attention than his writing, so he decided to attent Florida State University and major in art.  After graduating with a degree in art history from the University of North Florida, he went out in search of a career in the business world.

Taylor's desire to write seemed to linger under the surface, and he decided to again take up the craft.  The proverbial light came on, and two screenplays and two novels later, it still burns strong.  Taylor spent two years on The Shattering Sword and finished it in the summer of 2002.

Forrest Taylor lives with his family in Jacksonville.
