Garrett Peck is a multi-media participant in the horror genre. He writes short fiction, edits anthologies, reviews book, produces, directs and acts for the stage and narrates audio books.

Background Information

Garrett Peck has a background in theatrical production. He's been a longtime fan of the horror genre, eagerly devouring horror novels and colllections since he was a child. He now writes his own horror fiction, is a prolific book reviewer for several horror publications and has now edited three anthologies. His earliest influences were the short fiction of Robert Bloch and Ray Bradbury. Other formative influences include Ira Levin, Stephen King, Peter Straub and Graham Masterton. More recent influences include Simon Clark, Tim Lebbon and Lucius Shepard.

Accomplishments

Garrett currently serves the Horror Writers Association as chairman of the Bram Stoker Award Additions Jury. He has twice been nominated for the Bram Stoker Award in nonfiction, for his anthology PERSONAL DEMONS and his five-month stint editing and publishing Hellnotes Newsletter.

Additional Information

My short fiction can be found in such anthologies as Shivers 2 (edited by Richard Chizmar for CD Pubs)Stories and More That Won't Make Your Parents Hurl and Bubbas and The Four Bubbas of the Apocalypse (all edited by Selina Rosen for Yard Dog Press); Brainbox: The Real Horror (edited by Steve Eller for Dreams Unlimited)and The Red, Red Robin Project (edited by Brian A. Hopkins for Lone Wolf Publications). Also with Hopkins and Lone Wolf Pubs, I co-edited the anthology Personal Demons and co-edited Tooth and Claw Volumes One & Two with J. F. Gonzalez. My fiction review column "Shadows on the Shelf" runs in Gauntlet Magazine and I also frequently review for Hellnotes Newsletter, Cemetery Dance, Flesh & Blood and various websites. A new review column, "Fan Demonium" will appear in The Horror Within. I narrated the audio dramatizations of F. Paul Wilson's "Conspiracies" (a Bram Stoker Award finalist in 2000) and David B. Silva's "Sudden in a Shaft of Shadow." I directed the first U.S. production of Clive Barker's "Crazyface" and F. Paul Wilson & Matthew J. Costello's "Syzygy."
