I am a retired bookkeeper and a grandmother of two teenage girls who keep grandma pretty busy, but I love the challenge! I started writing in 2000 after I lost my son to violence. Putting my thoughts and frustration on paper was more soothing and therapeutic to me than saying the words out loud so I took comfort in writing to release the stress.

Background Information

My first book entitled When Half of Your Heart Dies was published in 2004. This book depicted in sorrowful details the murder of my youngest son who was shot and killed as he and friends were leaving a Social Club in our city. This is a true to life story of the struggles I faced in trying to come to terms with his untimely death while also trying to remain faithful and sane.

My latest book which was just published is of quite a different genre. It is a children's picture book in rhyme entitled The Little Candy Breathing Dragons which was inspired by my two young granddaughters. This is a magical faily tale about two little dragons named Nay-Nay and Maj who are not your ordinary dragons, for instead of breathing fire as most dragons do, they breathe out delightful candy scents which can be savored for miles and miles. My vision is to write a series of children's books about the little dragons and their quest of adventure and excitement.

This book and all future books is dedicated to my late son Darian L. Clark (1972-2000).
