Born at the end of the Great Depression, Jansen Estrup remembers much of WWII as a personal matter. The confused, sometimes horrific excitement gave him a lifelong interest in conflicts of all kinds and prompted him to choose a military career. He has lived in a remote solar powered home amidst the wildness of the Sierra Nevada for the past 3 decades with his wife of 44 years, Carole, an artist and writer.
